Just a quick view into my life. Feel free to comment on any of the posts listed here. Hopefully I can come up with some profound thoughts or something (but I doubt it--lol). Yeah, and I'll also try not to be too controversial. Haha. Word.

Walking in Memphis...

Found this cool site awhile back. Have had a bit of time to actually look at it lately, though. It is called CMCentral. Christian music is like a hobby of mine (ok, more like an obsession--lol.). You can go there, though, to check up on old Christian artists/bands (learn if they are planning on releasing new albums, follow links to their solo careers, or find out that they have begun a different career altogether, etc.). If known, the site describes what many of the artists that I grew up listening to have been doing with their lives. Anyways, I was glancing down through the list of unique names and as I was passing Clay Crosse saw that my boy Dana Key's name was listed. He is now the senior pastor at TLC Church in Memphis (Clay Crosse is actually the worship leader--how cool is that?). Looks like I may have to make a trip to Memphis to see one half of one of the greatest Christian bands of all-time: Degarmo & Key. I've always liked the Kentucky/Tennessee area. I'll have to see what I can do.

Amy, though I’m assuming you’re just trying to give Bill a hard time, this is my response: Don’t go judging Clay Crosse in that way… He’s an awesome worship leader… DC Talk put it best when they rapped back in the day, “Separated, I cut myself clean from a past that comes back in my darkest of dreams. I’ve been apprehended by a Spiritual force and a grace that replaced all the me I divorced.” We all have a list of “stupid things we did in the past”…

Take a look at the band “Seventh Day Slumber.” God is using them in amazing ways, but some of them have a dark past too… Band founder and lead singer Joseph Roja was a $400/day cocaine addict, spending time in and out of jail and in drug rehab centers most of his adolescent and early adult years. Plus, Juan 'Rhino' Alvarez grew up in San Antonio's inner-city, and got his nick-name from a life of street fighting. Despite growing up in a Christian home, Rhino quickly fell in with the wrong crowd and ended up getting arrested after robbing $10,000 from a courthouse. He became a Christian in jail and was amazingly released from jail 9 months into a 10 year sentence. Much like Joseph, Rhino never looked back and is now a gentle giant. I was front-row when these guys gave their testimonies at a concert in Pittsburgh in October, and it made me want to cry… Their pasts are so broken, but God is using them in a big way!!

“Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.”

Hey, speaking of Christian/former Christian music...I bought the new POD cd and it's terrible. Did you want it? (Isn't that a nice way to preface that though? lol) I'm bringing it when I come home (if I don't forget), so I'll give it to you then if you want it. If not, you can always just sell it on ebay or something...lol.

I was just stating a fact. I saw it the on the news 2 days ago. Im not saying he is bad now Just saying what he did. And I think its sad so many christian artist do this sort of thing and still sing of God, My ex did this, he is a christian Song writer and was into things he shouldnt have been and its hypocritical, Im not judging him just saying what the bible says, Im sure he is forgiven now and means what he says, but he and others still do this sort of thing.
