Just a quick view into my life. Feel free to comment on any of the posts listed here. Hopefully I can come up with some profound thoughts or something (but I doubt it--lol). Yeah, and I'll also try not to be too controversial. Haha. Word.

Long Time, No Post

It's Friday and I took the day off of work. In addition to having a dentist appointment today (still no cavities! I know, I know--hard to believe given that I like sweets so much), I had to get things ready for the College and Career event at PNC Park. I am really hoping it doesn't rain. One thing is for certain: we are going to have a great view of the Fireworks Show. I was so shocked when I had to order 36 tickets. With such a large turn out, I plan on making this an annual event and opening it up to the entire Pittsburgh District. It turns out that I have some responsibility now. LOL. At least I know what I have to do for next year. Well, I'll post pictures of A-Train's wedding when I get the opportunity (possibly tomorrow). I guess my mind keeps telling me that today is Saturday. I could really get used to this "not working" thing. LOL. Well, take care everyone.

Wherever you are, be blessed in Christ! (Old school, bring it back! LOL.)

Annie's Mailbox Parts II and III

Where do they get these people from? A little bit of sense about themselves would go a long way. Maybe they just need Jesus.

------------------------------

DEAR ANNIE: I am 28 years old and read your column daily. The problem is my boyfriend, "Dave." He went overboard last month and hit me in front of our two young children. Of course, he was arrested, and a restraining order was issued. We both know what he did was wrong, and he apologized to me and the kids.
The problem is, no one seems to understand that I love this man. We've been together for 10 years. Dave agrees that he needs counseling but won't go unless I go, too. My family is furious, but they don't know him like I do.
Annie, can this relationship be saved? -- The Lost One

------------------------------

DEAR ANNIE: I am a 47-year-old woman, married almost 30 years, and I have two grown sons. For the past 10 years, I have been having an affair with my 27-year-old nephew, "Steven."
It began shortly after the death of my father. In the beginning, it was a matter of seeing similarities between my father and nephew, and I was drawn to that. Now, I realize that I am in love with Steven. I also have been sending money regularly to Steven because he's had some legal problems, and I am hoping it will help him straighten out his life. My husband has no idea this has been going on.
I care deeply for my husband, but I am in love with my nephew and dream of running away with him. I have tried counseling, but it just doesn't seem to be working. I guess that's because part of me doesn't want things to change.
I don't want to give up what I have with Steven, but if I tell my husband, he'll divorce me, and I don't want that, either. Please, please help. -- Aunt in Agony

In Reverse

What's been going on with me lately? Trying to get events, e-mails, and reports together for the College and Career group. Finished that for now, though. Two of the three partners (bosses) in the office are on vacation this week. Should be an easy week. LOL. JK. Can't remember if I told everyone about cleaning the guinea pig's cage for my pastor and his family a few weeks back. That was even worse than the cat's problems. When I turned the shavings over, I was faced with one of the most pungent smells I have ever experienced. I started to get a little woozy there for a minute. LOL. Sick nasty I tell ya. Sick nasty! Anyways, glad that is over with (no pets for me now!). They got me a cool picture and frame as a gift to hang on the wall of my future house someday (a great addition for when that day comes). It's got the whole John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches" thing going on. Oh and one last bit of news. We found a piece of Soulscape history on Sunday night. The infamous (and completely spontaneous) Larry Song has been found!!! Word.

Well, my brother and his wife stopped in on the 4th of July (having just returned from their honeymoon the day before). Since I had promised pictures (and because Jana is getting impatient--LOL, JK), I'll post some of the honeymoon ones below. They had a cabin in the Smoky Mountain region of Tennessee. I know things are a little bit out of order now, but I will get the wedding ones up as soon as they are ready.

Come One, Come All

The tentative 2005 Pittsburgh District College and Career group schedule is as follows:

Friday, July 22nd – Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies (PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA)

July 31st - August 7th – Family Camp with the annual College and Career get-together after the service on Friday evening (District Center in Mt. Chestnut, PA)

Saturday, August 13th – Kennywood Trip (West Mifflin, PA)

Friday, November 25th – Christmas shopping at the Grove City Outlets (Grove City, PA)

Saturday, November 26th – Christmas shopping at Ross Park Mall (Pittsburgh, PA)

-----------------------------------------------

If you are interested in coming to or have questions regarding the Pirates game on July 22nd, please let me know by Monday, July 18th. I'll be ordering tickets as soon as I get a positive count on the number of those attending. Feel free to invite your friends, relatives, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM (it is also fireworks night), so we'll plan on meeting at a location just outside PNC Park at 6:30. I'll have more details for those interested in the weeks ahead.

Also, please do not forget to stop by the pavilion at camp meeting on Friday night after the evening service on August 5th. We'll have plenty of food for all of those who come. I am sure it will be a great time of fellowship for those in attendance. I'll also need to update the College and Career e-mail address database.

Please watch for e-mails regarding the other events as those dates approach. Thanks and have a great week! God bless.
